Leadership behind Lexera
Mathon M. Bates
Founder & Executive Director
Mathon Bates and his wife founded Lexera on a shared belief: strong businesses can do more than generate profit. They can create opportunity, develop future leaders, strengthen communities, and build something that lasts.
Mathon’s career spans emergency services, large-scale retail operations, government technology, legal technology, and professional services. Throughout his career, he has led complex operations, strengthened underperforming organizations, developed leadership teams, and helped businesses navigate growth and transformation.
His experience includes executive responsibility across operations, product development, customer organizations, and enterprise delivery, as well as hands-on leadership in retail turnarounds, store openings, and organizational improvement. He has also overseen complex technology implementations, migrations, and adoption efforts, developing a practical understanding of what it takes for meaningful change to succeed.
Mathon understands the investment and sacrifice involved in building a business. He also understands that difficult decisions sometimes become unavoidable. His goal is to help leaders recognize challenges earlier, strengthen their organizations, and create better options before those decisions become necessary.
A lifelong student of business, he brings perspective shaped by experience, difficult decisions, lessons learned, proven methodologies, and measurable results. He believes sustainable improvement begins with leadership, grows through accountability, and becomes part of an organization’s culture through consistent action.
Through Lexera, Mathon aims to help businesses become stronger, more resilient, and better positioned to create lasting value for the people who depend on them.
“One interaction at a time.”
